PROBAAH Celebrates World Environment Day 2024 with a Community Plantation Program in Soladhara Village.


On World Environment Day on 5th June,2024, PROBAAH organized a plantation program in Soladhara village under the Holophukan Gram Panchayat. The event witnessed active participation from various community members and officials, underscoring a collective commitment to environmental conservation. Supervisor Smti. Anamika Gogoi, Utpal Phukan, and Abha Gogoi from the Lakuwa CDPO office graced the occasion with their presence. Alongside them were dedicated Anganwadi center workers, helpers, local residents, and children, all contributing to the green initiative.

A diverse array of saplings was planted, reflecting the community’s dedication to enhancing local biodiversity and promoting sustainable practices. The enthusiastic participation of around 36 people, including children, highlighted the importance of fostering environmental awareness from a young age. The event not only aimed at greening the local landscape but also at educating the community about the significance of trees in combating climate change and sustaining ecological balance.

The plantation program organized by PROBAAH was a significant step towards creating a greener and healthier environment in Soladhara village. It served as a reminder of the vital role that every individual plays in preserving the planet for future generations. The collaborative effort marked a meaningful celebration of World Environment Day, 2024.

The voluntary organization PROBAAH, associated with Dholebagan H.S. School in Nazira is observed World Environment Day 2023 at the Children’s Park in Sukafa G.P. under the Nazira sub-division. The plantation program was inaugurated by Mr. Mohan Handique, the Principal of Dholebagan H.S. School, in the presence of Mrs. Sujata Borgohain, Mrs. Jahnobi Borgohain, Md Zeraul Rohman, Mr. Horen Gogoi, and the Executive member of PROBAAH, Sri Hemanta Gogoi, who serves as the Coordinator. More than 65 students actively participated, and over 50 saplings of various fruits were planted.
