Free Eye Camp Organized by PROBAAH and ERC eye care hospital, Sivasagar Benefits 189 Tea Garden Workers

Amguri, Assam – In a commendable initiative to provide healthcare access to underserved communities, PROBAAH, an Assam-based NGO, in association with ERC, Sivasagar, organized a free eye camp at Mozdur Club, Borbam TE, Amguri. The camp aimed to address the eye care needs of tea garden workers and local residents who often face difficulties in accessing medical facilities.  

Bridging the Healthcare Gap 

For the residents of tea garden areas, visiting hospitals or nursing homes for regular health check-ups is often a challenge due to financial constraints and lack of transportation. Recognizing this issue, PROBAAH and ERC eye care hospital, Sivasagar, brought essential eye care services directly to the community, ensuring free health screenings and treatment.  

Key Highlights of the Camp 

Free eye check-ups conducted by doctors and medical staff from ERC eye care hospital, Sivasagar.  

189 patients were examined and provided with necessary free medicines, 

Cataract patients identified(38 nos.) during the camp will be brought to ERC Hospital, Sivasagar, for further treatment starting from next Tuesday.  

The event saw the participation of local elected representatives, NGO members, and prominent community figures, highlighting strong community support.  

A Step Towards Better Vision and Health 

The camp brought immense relief to the attendees, many of whom struggle with untreated vision problems. By offering diagnosis, medication, and follow-up care at no cost, the initiative has significantly improved the quality of life for hundreds of individuals.

Shop(Outlet) opened by PROBAAH(NGO) at Nazira

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, a shop name is Axomi Biponee was opened today under the initiative of voluntary organization PROBAAH, in collaboration with The Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission. The outlet was inaugurated by Smt. Ayushi Jain Baideo, Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Nazira Sub-Division, along with Shri Munin Gogoi (BPM), Zilla Parishad Member Mrs. Tulumani Konwar Baideo, Ex-teacher Anjana Borgohain Baideo, PROBAAH executive members, and women from various SELF-HELP groups under Nazira Development Block. Arrangements will be made to sell products produced by the women’s group at this outlet.
